I launched Traffic, the first UK-specific iPhone application, in September ahead of the November 2007 launch by Apple.

More recently I produced the iPhone MMS Viewer for O2 iPhones and a number of iPhone-optimised sites for clients including RSR Switzerland.

iPhone

The iPhone is a revolutionary device, with a full-featured web browser rather than the cut-down browsers you find on most mobile telephones. It has proved extremely popular in the US with many sites producing iPhone specific versions of their content optimised for the small, but high resolution display.

The mobile internet, finally useful.

iPhone finally makes the "mobile web" useful, and regularly used. Indeed, all iPhone users have unlimited data included in their price plan - so the cost of using the internet on the go is no longer a concern.

Is your site ready for iPhone?

Many other devices will no doubt follow the iPhone, making mobile internet far more powerful and attractive to end users than it ever was with WAP technology. If your site provides information which people might want on the move, then you should strongly consider taking into account that many of your visitors may use iPhones.
